Kirk Schoenherr is a guitarist, keyboardist, vocalist, producer, and composer.  He is an active touring and recording musician, based out of Brooklyn, New York. 

Kirk played guitar and keys with Nick Murphy (fka Chet Faker) for five years starting in 2014, eventually becoming bandleader for Nick's live show. The band played sold-out venues across five continents and many of the world’s biggest music festivals, including Coachella, Lollapalooza, Glastonbury, Primavera Sound, and Laneway Festival. Their national television appearances include The Ellen Degeneres Show and Jimmy Kimmel Live.  They have also performed at many iconic venues including the Sydney Opera House and Red Rocks Amphitheater in Denver, Colorado.

Kirk has also worked with Skaters, San Fermin, Vérité, Blanco Brown, Soleima, Casual Male, KAYE, 

John Agnello (Kurt Vile, Sonic Youth), Human Natural, Jaymay, Victoria Reed, Rush Midnight, Motel Pools, Misty Boyce (Sara Bareilles, BØRNS), Johnny Lewis, The Bright Silence, Annie Bass, Alexz Johnson, Steve Waitt and many other artists.  In addition, Kirk has released records of his own collaborative projects, Companion (2012), and Smother Party (2011).

 

In 2014, Kirk played and sang in Icelandic artist Ragnar Kjartansson’s groundbreaking installation, “Me, My Mother, My Father, and I” at The New Museum in New York. He has also composed and performed with New York City dance companies and several improvising ensembles.

 

In 2017, in collaboration with choreographer and dancer Jules Bakshi, Kirk composed and performed the score for Jules’ original piece, “Nest”, which premiered at New York City's 92Y.
