Kirk Schoenherr’s expert musicianship and unique voice have made him a sought-after guitarist and multi-instrumentalist for tours and recordings the world over. Born in Michigan, raised in St. Louis, trained in Ohio and New York, and a Brooklyn resident since 2006, Kirk brings a breadth of experience and style to every project.

He is currently contributing his skills on guitar, bass, keys and vocals to a tour with Chet Faker, promoting the release of “Built on Glass,” which has taken the band to sold out venues all over the world. Kirk has also performed and toured with Skaters, Rush Midnight, Misty Boyce, Alexz Johnson, The Bright Silence, and Companion, his own collaborative project headed by Pepi Ginsberg, who released their debut album in 2012.

Kirk has played many of the world’s biggest music festivals, including Coachella, Lollapalooza, Melt and Primavera Sound. His national television appearances include The Ellen Degeneres Show and Jimmy Kimmel Live.

In the spirit of collaboration, Kirk played and sang as part of Icelandic artist Ragnar Kjartansson’s ground-breaking installation, “Me, My Mother, My Father, and I” at The New Museum in New York in 2014. He has also composed and performed with New York City dance companies and several improvising ensembles. When not on the road, Kirk remains an active musician in NYC.
